If you receive a University of York bursary and think you haven’t received your full payment in September or January, please get in touch with the Student Support and Advice Team in the Student Hub who can point you in the right direction and help with a range of money issues.

National Student Money Week | Events, competitions and giveaways to help you take control of your finances

It’s National Student Money Week and we have a range of events, competitions and giveaways to help you take control of your finances while having fun! Get expert advice on managing your money and tips on finding part-time work in our Paint & Sip events or drop-in sessions. Be in with a chance of winning a cash prize with our partner, Blackbullion, too. 

Don’t forget, if you are struggling with money, support is available - see our managing your money information and cost of living hub for more details. Our Student Support and Advice Team in the Student Hub can provide help tailored to your circumstances, including, if eligible, directing you to our Student Support Fund. Complete the Support and Advice Team referral form for help and support.

2. Eat happy - with pancakes!

Cooking together and sharing a meal can do wonders for your mental health - and pocket. Why not make pancakes for Pancake Day tomorrow (4 March)? Read our recipes to help share mealtimes and then share with us your household’s culinary creations on Instagram. Find out how to eat happy - for you and your pocket.

3. It’s Sustainability Week

Back for its eleventh year, Sustainability Week is packed full of free sustainability-related events, workshops, talks and activities for you to get involved in. 4. Thinking of starting a business?

Start your business journey with our Explore Enterprise programme. Over five weeks, build the foundations of your business knowledge and learn the basics through interactive workshops with like-minded students. There is a chance to show off all you’ve learned in a pitching competition at the end. Apply to take part in the Explore Enterprise programme by Sunday 16 March.

5. Tell us how you travel - win an iPad

How do you travel to, from and around campus? Are there improvements that could be made? Complete our 2025 Annual Travel and Transport Survey to enter a prize draw to win an iPad. As part of our research, we will be conducting a travel count of vehicles on campus on Thursday (6 March). You may notice people monitoring car parks and counting vehicles, but there’s no need to be concerned, this is simply part of our routine data collection.
