DEADLINE TODAY: Study a language as part of your course
|
There's still time to pick a language as an elective module if your course allows it. You can develop your existing skills, or learn something completely new. The extended deadline to apply for a language elective is 5pm TODAY (Monday 17 March).

Finalists: remember to complete the National Student Survey (NSS)
|
The National Student Survey (NSS) is your opportunity to give fair and honest feedback on your experience at York. It’s so important to complete it in order to help us understand what we’re getting right and where we can make improvements. Check your inbox for your NSS invitation.

Want to know where to focus your energies to move from good to even better in your academic work? Come to the Academic Skills Community's How to get a First workshop on Friday (21 March) to find out what markers might look for in your work in order to award that top grade.

2. Celebrating neurodiversity
|
This week, we’re proud to support Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2025 and champion inclusive practice, share lived experiences, and celebrate the strengths that diverse minds bring to our university. Events include zine workshops, movie night, quiz night, plus discussions on understanding neurodiversity and ‘What makes a Neurodivergent-friendly campus’. 3. Funding for personal and professional development
|
Seen a development opportunity but need funding to realise it? Perhaps you need help to cover costs for an interview, internship or conference or to buy work clothes? The York Futures Scholarship provides funding of up to £1,000 to support eligible students to access employability related experiences they would otherwise not be able to afford. Check application criteria for the York Futures Scholarship.

4. Add a Year in Enterprise?
|
Finalists - you have the option of adding a Year in Enterprise to your degree! Get academic credit and a package of support for having a go at starting your own business. It's an opportunity to innovate, to broaden your experience and develop your business skills. Find out what’s involved in taking a Year in Enterprise.

5. Come to a student-led conference
|
Come to this week’s York SU Community Conference for a stimulating programme of sessions that will challenge your thinking and expand your horizon. With sessions on topics such as climate justice, combatting Imposter Syndrome, EDI and accessibility, as well as student-led initiatives, come network with other students and immerse yourself in sessions outside of your degree area.
